What's New at MTC Library

Library Fact or Myth?

by Ask A Librarian on 2016-10-24T13:16:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

When it comes to the library, there are several misconceptions.

Myth #1: It's free to print from library computers

Printing from library computers will cost $0.05 per page and you must have a print card to pay for the job.  The cost of the print card is $0.50.  Print cards can be purchased in the library or Academic Success Center using a dollar bill.  You can't use a debit card or change to purchase a card.

Myth #2: The library has a copy of your textbook

The library does not generally purchase textbooks for MTC classes.  However, your instructor may place a copy on reserve for the class to use.  In order to determine if your textbook is available in the library, search the title using the catalog.

Myth #3: You have to be extremely QUIET in the library.

The library offers quiet spaces to study, but also has group study areas where students can collaborate. If you are not sure of where these areas are, consult a library staff member for help.
