An Adobe Digital Editions account is needed to download and read e-books offline for most academic e-books, no matter the format or whether it will be read on a computer or mobile device. Both the download and the account are free.
EBSCO eBooks are compatible with:
To download EBSCO eBooks to your computer or mobile device to read you must create an account that is separate from your library account.
1. Access the EBSCO Ebook Collection and click sign in (top right).
2. Click "Sign up."
3. Enter the relevant information and remember your Username and Password.
4. Select "Create Account."
4. Click on "Sign in" and use your new Username and Password to log in.
1. Open the app and tap "Access with your institution".
2. Type Midlands Tech and select Midlands Tech College.
3. Select Connect Your institution and login with your MyMTC username and password.
4. Tap the "Create Account" button.
5. Fill in your information and click Create Account.
6. You will receive confirmation that your account has been created and are prompted to Log In with your new account.
To read EBSCO e-books on your mobile device you can download the EBSCO app from the appropriate store:
While you do not need an Adobe Digital Editions account to read e-books in the app, you will still need to have a MyEBSCO Account. This can be created in the app if you have not created one already. See instructions on the "Creating a MyEBSCO Account" tab.
To download EBSCO eBooks to your computer and read offline you will need to have an Adobe Digital Editions account and a My EBSCOhost Account.
1. Search EBSCOhost for eBook titles of interest.
2. Click on title of the eBook you are interested in.
3. Choose the format (EPUB or PDF) by clicking on "Access options" and then click on "Download".
4. If you would like to download the entire e-book, click on "Full eBook download" at the top of the page.
5. Choose the number of days you would like to borrow the eBook and format, check the Adobe Digital Editions box if you have already downloaded this and click "Download".
6. When the File Download box opens, click on the filename and the eBook will appear in Adobe Digital Editions.
