Environmental Impact

People may not always begin life with the same opportunities or resources (inequity), and social factors exist to separate us further. Those who experience a mental illness may be a victim of social and physical determinants.

In 2014,  The World Health Organization's Social Determinants of Mental Health report stated, A person’s mental health and many common mental disorders are shaped by various social, economic, and physical environments operating at different stages of life. Risk factors for many common mental disorders are heavily associated with social inequalities, whereby the greater the inequality, the higher the inequality in risk.

This collection of resources explores the impact of one's environment on their mental health.
